About the Book
The people and events in this book are based on mostly true occurrences. The authors, Dr. Lakia Scott and Branda Greening, traveled to Ghana in May 2016 with the Baylor University Missions Leadership Team. They spent two weeks in Ghana, exploring the culture and learning about education. Scott and Greening, along with many others, had the privilege of working at Kyerekrom Roman Catholic Primary School alongside the students, teachers, and Headmaster. Some of the most valuable lessons learned from their travels are presented in this book as a way to teach for cultural understanding. Students will be introduced to cultural aspects of life in rural Ghana while educators will be reminded of the value and importance of both teaching and learning.
Proceeds from the book will be used to buy school supplies, supplies for teachers and faculty at Kyerekrom, books for the library, technology, and more. All of these items will be brought back to Ghana in May 2017 during the BU Missions Trip. |
